Maggie Kiatainaq

Maggie is an Inuk elder originally from Kangiqsujuaq (Wakeham Bay), Nunavik. She has also lived in Kangirsujuaq and Kuujjuaq, Nunavik and currently resides in Montreal. Previously Maggie worked for the Kativik School Board. She works on the Irnisursiriartutuq Nunaringngitamini project providing one-on-one social support to pregnant and postpartum participants. As part of the elder support provided by the project, Maggie also leads social and cultural activities with study participants and patients at staying at Ullivik (temporary housing, transportation, and medical services unit for Nunavik patients receiving medical care in Montreal) to help ease their isolation and stress while they await childbirth and other medical services in Montreal.
