Hilah is a perinatal nurse clinician and a postdoctoral fellow. She received her PhD in 2024 from the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University. As a CIHR Patient-Oriented Research fellow she is leading the first phase of a longitudinal participatory project on childbirth repatriation and culturally safe birth among Inuit from Nunavik. Since 2018 she has been collaborating with Inuit communities and settler health workers to co-design health services and interventions to support culturally safe birth in the context of maternal evacuations for childbirth. Her interests include maternal child health, Indigenous women’s health, feminist and anti-colonial methodologies, and participatory research.
