Past
- At an April 2023 mini-conference in Nuuk, Greenland co-organized by Dr. Vang and midwife Vibebe Biilmann, Nunavimmiut and Greenlandic midwives from Nunavik, Canada and Greenland shared their experiences about Inuit-led midwifery practices, models of midwifery education in the respective countries, and explored future collaborations.

- In May 2022, Dr. Vang and her team received an impactful SSHRC Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative grant. The grant supports community-based partnership and research activities related to anti-Inuit racism and cultural safety in maternal and child healthcare services for Arviarmuit.
- The Iligiingniq (Inuit Perinatal Health & Wellness in Arviat, Nunavut) project was awarded a CIHR Indigenous Gender and Wellness (IGW) Team Grant in July 2021.
- Midwife Kimberley Moorhouse, Coordinator of Midwifery Services for the Inuulitsivik Health Centre, and Dr. Vang gave a presentation on cultural safety in Indigenous maternal mental health and perinatal services at the University of Minnesota Medical School’s Women Health Equity, Empowerment, & Leadership seminar series in November 2021.
