Alex is a PhD student in Civil Society & Community Research. His research focuses on how multilingual, multicultural immigrant families cope with challenges and build resilience. He aims to use decolonized research methods, such as storytelling and participatory action research (PAR), to foster understanding and empower marginalized communities. He is particularly interested in using the arts as a therapeutic tool to address trauma. With a background in mental health, social work, and rehabilitation psychology, Alex brings a unique blend of practice, research, and creativity to his work. Originally from Ecuador, he is passionate about advancing community well-being through research and action-oriented initiatives.
